My Chemical Romance, Life on the Murder Scene
The blood-splattered couple on the cover of Life on the Murder Scene captures the all-too-familiar mix of anger, fury and fantasy of My Chemical Romance.
Life on the Murder Scene consists of one live CD from the emo-punk-rock band’s popular 2004 release, Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge as well as a previously unreleased track, “”Desert Song.””
In addition to the live CD are two DVDs. One DVD is a video diary of the band, and the other is purely live performances, TV appearances, online performances and videos.
The video diary is entertaining and tells the band’s story, from its Jersey roots to front-man Gerard’s battle with alcohol and depression, to getting signed by a major record label.
The second DVD gets a bit daunting, with many of the same songs played at different venues. Only a real My Chemical Romance fan would truly appreciate these same songs played over and over again. The DVD features favorites such as “”I’m Not Okay,”” “”Helena”” and “”Ghost of You”” in the making of their videos and different live and TV appearances.
Life on the Murder Scene is only for die-hard My Chemical Romance fans, who can connect to the band’s sorrow-filled songs.
