On Sept. 28 University of Arizona officials held a groundbreaking ceremony for the Grand Challenges Research Building. The building is to be part of the Wyant College of Optical Sciences complex and is scheduled to be finished by 2024.

President Robbins addresses University Leadership teams at the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Grand Challenges Research Building on the UA campus, Sept. 28.
During his address, Robbins said, "Research like this creates worldwide impact in two inter-related ways -- through new discoveries in technologies and an incubator for student learning, training, and workforce development."
