The University of Arizona Police Department responded to an off-campus shooting early Saturday morning, according to a series of UAlerts sent to members of the campus community.
According to the initial alert, sent at 1:40 a.m., the shooting reportedly occurred at 7th Street and Martin Avenue, just east of the Student Recreation Center. The UAlert described the “involved vehicle” as a “newer model mustang last seen traveling westbound from location.” Community members were advised to avoid the area.
At 2:04 a.m., less than 30 minutes after the initial report of the incident, the scene was declared “all clear.” The UAlert noted that the “involved subjects [were] believed to have left the area” and that there was “no ongoing threat.”
There was no mention of any victims of the incident.
There was no reference to any of the involved party being placed in custody, and no physical descriptions were provided.
