The victim of yesterday’s off-campus shooting at Helen and Euclid is in “stable condition,” according to the Tucson Police Department. An investigation into the shooting continues.
According to TPD, the victim of the shooting was involved in an altercation at a residence in the area. TPD reported that this altercation resulted in the victim being shot and suffering life-threatening injuries, but as of March 12 the victim is said to be in stable condition.
On the afternoon of March 11, a series of UAlerts notified the University of Arizona campus community of a shooting at Helen and Euclid, towards the north end of campus. After the initial alert about the incident, the community was notified at 1:41 p.m. that TPD had closed Euclid in all directions. Later in the day, at 2:26 p.m., a UAlert offered an “all-clear” notification.
These UAlerts included no description of the suspect or the outcome of the shooting.
According to a statement from TPD, this incident’s investigation is ongoing, no arrests have been made, and “all parties involved have been located and spoken to, and there are no outstanding parties involved.”
