University of Arizona community members along with other individuals continued pro-Palestine efforts on April 30. An encampment was set up near Park Avenue and University Boulevard where a commitment was made by those organizing the protest to stay past the 10:30 p.m. curfew set by the UA. That night, a heavy police force — local police, county sheriffs, the University of Arizona Police Department and others — began an hours-long stand-off with protesters. Several protesters were arrested and the crowd at large was tear gassed and experienced rubber bullets and pepper spray projectiles. Read more here.
