The University of Arizona women’s soccer team lost 4-0 to the University of Kansas at home on Thursday, Oct. 17 at 7 p.m. The Wildcats are now 9-5-2 in the season and 4-4-1 in the Big 12.
Coming off a recent loss to the University of Houston, Arizona was ready to win their second to last home game of the regular season. Both teams were aggressive on both sides of the field throughout the first half. In the 13th minute, Jillian Gregorski of Kansas laid in a goal, putting the first point on the board. The Wildcats continued to fight back trying to get the score even.
Going into halftime, Arizona was down 1-0 to Kansas who had four shots on goal where Arizona had none.
In the second half, the Wildcats started to pick up the pace but it wasn’t enough. In the 52nd minute, Kansas scored again. Arizona tried to defend their goal but once again in the 59th minute, the Jayhawks advanced the score to 3-0. Throughout the rest of the game, Arizona could not keep up with the Jayhawk’s energy and Kansas scored again, extending their lead to 4-0.
