Arizona’s men’s and women’s fall against Arizona State University. The men’s team fell 73 to 227 and the women’s team lost 110 to 119. While ASU was in control for most of the day, a few particular Wildcats made great steps of their own.
Swimming:
Women’s swimmers, Lexi Duchsherer and Julia Wozniak, achieved both personal bests and season bests for the team. Duchsherer in the 50-yard freestyle (22.19) and Wozniak in the 100-yard freestyle (49.25).
Men’s swimmers Haakon Naughton and Ralph Daleiden headlined the men’s outing. Naughton placed third in the men’s 100 (46.58) and 200-yard (1:45.20) butterfly. Daleiden would place third in the 200-yard freestyle (1:34.46). Both Naughton and Daleidan were crucial in the men’s third-place finish (1:25.75) in the 200-yard medley relay.
Today was not a total loss for the Wildcats as the women’s 200-yard freestyle relay teams made the A-cut standard, securing them play in the NCAA Championship. The swimmers included Duchsherer and Wozniak along with Riley Botton and Alyssa Schwengel.
Diving:
Arizona’s divers were the highlight of the event. Women’s Zara Ayazi and men’s Gage DuBois took first in both the one-meter and three-meter for their respective teams.
