The Arizona women’s soccer team competed in its first exhibition scrimmage in the Red and Blue match in Pinetop on Saturday. The Blue Team, led by freshman forward Laura Huylebroeck, came out on top 6-1.
The Blue Team, coached by assistant coach Harold Warren, took on the Red and White Team, coached by assistant coach Lisa Oyen.
Huylebroeck led her team with a hat trick. Freshman midfielder Jacqueline Broussard also recorded two goals for the Blue Team, while sophomore forward Gianna DeSaverio tallied one goal.
Sophomore forward London King scored Red and White’s only goal of the game.
The women’s team ranks No. 12 in the west region, according to Soccer Buzz magazine, and starts its season Friday against Oakland.
