The Arizona football team is losing more than games.
As the Wildcats are on the verge of their ninth consecutive bowl-less year, Arizona four-star recruit Robert Golden announced Monday that he is no longer verbally committed to Arizona.
The senior out of Fresno, Calif., Edison High School told www.goazcats.com he had apprehensions committing to Arizona in the midst of a losing season and coaches’ status still up in the air.
“”I’m still looking at (Arizona) but I just had some concerns with how the season was going,”” Golden said. “”I want to go into a situation with a stable coaching staff and I just wasn’t 100 percent sure that would be the case at Arizona.””
The recruiting Web site www.rivals.com lists Golden as the nation’s No. 11 cornerback prospect.
“”I want to take all my trips and once I’m done with that, I’ll figure out where the best place for me is,”” Golden said. “”Who knows, that could still be Arizona, but right now I just want to keep things wide open.””
