No. 4 Arizona (25-2, 12-2 Pac-12 Conference) shot 60 percent from the field and defeated Colorado (20-8, 9-6) 88-61 in Boulder, Colo.
The Wildcats jumped out to an early 22-5 advantage to start the game but saw that lead disappear as the shots stopped falling. At the half Arizona’s large lead was cut to a slim six points.
The Wildcats’ second half offense blew the game out and finished off Colorado, taking a 24-point lead with roughly seven minutes remaining.
Freshman Aaron Gordon led the second half charge after only scoring two points in the first half.
Gordon had a career high 23 points on 10-13 shooting. He also made both his three points attempts.
At the half Arizona junior Nick Johnson led the team with nine points. He ended the game with 20.
The Wildcats entered tonight’s game averaging 10.9 turnovers per game. Arizona only had six against Colorado.
The Buffaloes only had one player score in double digits. Askia Booker ended the game with 10 points.
