Unintelligible graffiti

A University of Arizona Police Department officer was on patrol near Highland Avenue around 9 a.m. on Tuesday when he noticed graffiti on the corner of the University Information Technology Services building. The graffiti was written in white spray paint and said “BLES.” The word was approximately 2 feet tall and 4 feet wide. The officer checked the rest of the building’s exterior for graffiti and found “BLES” written again on the sidewalk in blue spray paint. The officer also found the words “NASKI,” “BCA,” and “TOA ORBS” tagged in various places on and near the UITS building. The officer photographed the damage and notified Facilities Management. Victim’s rights forms were mailed to the UA.

Satchel swiped

A UAPD officer spoke with a UA employee at 5 p.m. on Friday about a theft. The woman said she had left her office in the Education building unlocked at 2 p.m. to attend a meeting. When she returned to her office at 3:30 p.m., her brown Kenneth Cole animal print satchel bag was missing. The woman said she did not notice anyone suspicious near her office when she left for the meeting. She said the bag contained her wallet, checkbook, cosmetics, cellphone and keys. The woman reported someone had already attempted to use her Capitol One credit card twice, once online and the other at Compass Bank on Stone Avenue. Both attempts were denied. The woman canceled all of her credit cards and bank account. She said she wants to prosecute if the suspect is caught.

A UAPD officer went to Árbol de la Vida Residence Hall at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday in response to a report of found property. The officer met with a desk assistant who turned in a silver analog Guess watch. The assistant said the watch had been found in one of the rooms on Nov. 6. The officer placed the watch into UAPD property and evidence.

Residence hall trespassing

A UAPD officer went to Gila Residence Hall at 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday in response to an unwanted person in the lobby. The officer met with a resident assistant who reported that he had seen an unknown man walking inside the hall’s lobby and hallway. The RA did not recognize the man and asked him why he was in the residence hall. The man ignored the RA’s questions and later left. Another officer found a man matching the subject’s description walking near Park Avenue and Fourth Street. The officers questioned him about the matter but the man refused to cooperate. A records check showed the man had entered Gila under false pretenses in January and attempted to elude an RA. The officer arrested the man for trespassing and took him to Pima County Jail. The man also received an exclusionary order from the UA.
