Arizona Wildcats offensive lineman Fabbians Ebbele was named to the Freshman All-American team by Sporting News last week.
The Chicago native was part of the youngest offensive line in the country. The Wildcats line allowed just 23 sacks on 577 passing plays this year. Ebbele started all 12 games at right tackle for the Wildcats, who went 4-8 in 2011.
He is one of eight Pac-12 players that were selected to the 26-man team, the highest number of any conference.
Oregon’s Hroniss Grasu and USC’s Marcus Martin joined Ebbele as three of the five offensive linemen selected. USC had three total selections with wide receiver Marqise Lee and linebacker Dion Bailey joining Martin. The Ducks had two selections with running back De’Anthony Thomas joining Grasu, and Oregon State had one selection, Scott Crichton on the defensive line.
