QUOTEWORTHY
“”Hollywood films these days are just so bad. They used to be kind of good, like ‘Top Gun’ or something, but now they’re just terrible,”” – Gwyneth Paltrow – who starred in “”View From the Top”” and obviously hasn’t seen “”Top Gun”” in a while.
NEWSWORTHY
Someone finally took action when George W. wouldn’t and bombed Paris Hilton. The blonde bombshell was nailed during London Fashion Week when PETA activists hit her with four flour bombs. They were really going for designer Julian MacDonald – who uses quite a lot of fur – but I guess they figured they could cover two birds with four bombs.

Would you like to see Paul Walker going down on his wife? Would you like to play a video game? If you answered yes to the first two questions, then head to http://aintitcool.com/display.cgi?id=22403 to learn how to turn the online game for the new Walker movie “”Running Scared”” into a “”GTA””-style sex romp. Hillary Clinton is pissed.
SOUNDS
Let It Beast sounds like some sort of thrash metal album, but it’s really a mash-up of the Beatles and Beastie Boys. Check out “”A Day in the Life of a Beastie Boy.””

GRIPE OF THE WEEK
The Olympics are super boring, with snowboarding sensation Shaun White the only real treat so far. All the storylines NBC is telling us to care about (Michelle Kwan trying to get that elusive gold, Apolo Anton Ohno vs. South Korea, Bode Miller vs. partying too hard) are blowing up in their faces with pitiful performances by the U.S. athletes. Tonight, instead of watching “”The Office,”” we’ll have to sit through men’s figure skating and women’s skeleton. Super boring.
RANDOM REVIEW
When searching for fast-food Mexican, some people like Los Betos, others prefer Viva Burrito and purists go to Nico’s. But really, it’s all the same shit. Not true with La Fresita, 1450 W. Saint Mary’s Road. Naturally, they have excellent Mexican food staples of beans and rice, but the chimichangas, tortas and tacos are all a cut above – or even a few cuts – those of other fast-food joints. Unfortunately, they’re only open until 11 p.m., and some cravings for Mexican come around 2 a.m. That’s why you always keep some La Fresita in the fridge.
WORDS
Apparently, there are others who find “”Crash”” to be a bit over the top. McSweeney’s has a short new piece by Brendon Lloyd entitled, “”Conversations I’ve had during a normal day in Los Angeles, modified to include the shocking depiction of racism found in Paul Haggis’s 2004 film ‘Crash.'””
