Phone lines on the UA campus were not able to connect to 9-1-1 for several hours Sunday morning.
At 5:43 a.m., a warning was delivered via the UAlert system that 9-1-1 could not be dialed from on-campus phone lines, blue light phones or elevator phones. A second UAlert advised anyone in need of emergency services to use a cell phone or call the University of Arizona Police Department directly from any phone.
A message just before 6 a.m. stated that University Information Technology Services was working to remedy the situation, and by 8:27 a.m., the issue had been resolved.
