When the shit hits the wall
University of Arizona Police Department officers responded to a report of a suspicious person near McKale Center at 10 p.m. on Friday. A witness told officers he had seen a man on the north side of McKale Center squatting against a wall with his pants down. The witness was unsure of whether the man was masturbating or defecating. The officers searched the area and found a man lying on the grass near a wall smeared with feces. One of the officers shined his flashlight on the man and saw that he had feces on his hand. The officer pointed at the feces and asked the man if it belonged to him. “Yeah, that’s my shit! What are you going to do about it?” the man shouted. A records check of the man showed that he had outstanding warrants from UAPD for criminal damage and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The man had also been reported to Tucson Police Department as a missing person. The officers arrested the man and he was booked into Pima County Jail. Facilities Management responded and cleaned up the feces.
The cursed court of law
A driver flagged down a UAPD officer and said that a man had punched the back of his car and yelled at him on Aug. 28 at 1:30 a.m. The driver said he was stopped at a stop sign at First Street and Cherry Avenue when the man walked behind his car and punched the trunk so hard it shook. The driver asked the man why he did it, and the man replied, “Eat shit!” The driver pointed out the man and officers approached him. The man identified himself with his U.S. passport and told officers he did not hit the car. The man yelled at officers, “I’m a fucking citizen. Innocent until proven guilty in a fucking court of law!” He said he had been drinking, but was 21 years old. The officers noticed that some dust was disturbed where the man hit the car but there was no damage. The man was arrested and booked into Pima County Jail on charges of disorderly conduct.
PCard pilfered online
A UAPD officer spoke to a UA employee about fraudulent charges made to her UA-issued Purchasing Card on Saturday. The employee told the officer that the business office informed her of six suspicious charges made to her PCard. The charges occurred between Aug. 19 and Aug. 25, and totaled $284.78. Five of the charges, totaling $175.68, were made to iTunes and a $109.10 charge was made to AT&T. The employee said the card had been in her possession the whole time and she did not make the purchases. The card was canceled and a Victim’s Rights Form was mailed to the woman’s employer.
They didn’t see me rollin’
UAPD officers responded to Hopi Lodge Residence Hall in response to a marijuana odor coming from one of the rooms around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday. The officers knocked on the door of the room and one of the residents answered. The man gave the officers consent to enter and they noticed that the smell of marijuana was increasingly stronger inside the room. Two other men were inside and they all agreed that there was a marijuana-like smell in the room. One of the men admitted he had some marijuana. He told officers that he and his other friends, who weren’t present, bought $40 worth of marijuana two days earlier from an unknown man off campus. He denied smoking in his dorm room, but said that he and his friends had smoked somewhere else two hours earlier. The man said the two friends in his room had not smoked with him and did not know there was marijuana in the room. The officer found a loose pile of marijuana and rolling papers in the man’s desk drawer. The marijuana was confiscated and the man was cited and released at the scene for possession of drug paraphernalia and marijuana.
