A male student died after falling off a walkway in the Posada San Pedro Residence Hall early yesterday morning, according to a University of Arizona Police Department media release.

Emergency personnel responded to the residence hall yesterday morning at around 2:37 a.m. after receiving a report of an unconscious man in the courtyard.

According to the report, emergency workers performed life-saving measures before transporting him to Banner ⁠— University Medical Center. He reportedly had injuries consistent with that of a fall from a great height.

The student was pronounced dead at 6:13 a.m., according to the media release. 

Officers have told the family about the death and are not releasing the name of the student to the public. The death is a part of an active investigation by the department.
