Arizona football’s 42-16 victory against No. 5 Oregon on Saturday allowed the Wildcats to be bowl eligible.
Ka’Deem Carey surpassed Trung Canidate’s record 3,824 accumulated yards this weekend after rushing 208 yards against Oregon, improving his total yards to 3,915. Carey also set a record with 49 career touchdowns, one more than Art Luppino.
Senior quarterback B.J. Denker and Carey were selected for the offensive players of the week by Arizona football head coach Rich Rodriguez and his staff. Denker completed 19 out of 22 passes against Oregon. He also finished with the second-best single-game performance of his career, with a pass efficiency of 184.33.
Women’s cross country had the best NCAA finish in program history this weekend after finishing in second place at the NCAA Championships. The team went into the competition ranked No. 2 in the country and had two student-athletes recognized with All-America honors.

The Arizona indoor volleyball team was swept by No. 8 USC and UCLA on its last two road games this weekend.
Arizona women’s basketball dropped its road game at Pacific 75-66 on Saturday.
No. 12 Arizona hockey had a tough weekend after it was shut out twice by No. 4 Iowa State University. On Friday the Wildcats were defeated 3-0, and on Saturday they were defeated 5-0.
After undergoing surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his right knee, the Bulls’ Derrick Rose is out for the season. Rose’s comeback campaign only lasted 10 games.
The Minnesota Vikings released A.J. Jefferson on Monday after he was arrested on a domestic assault charge. Jefferson is the second Vikings’ player to be arrested this month. Receiver Jerome Simpson was arrested for drunk driving on Nov. 9.
