A man was issued an exclusionary order at the Delta Chi fraternity house, 1701 E. First St., and was taken to University Medical Center, 1501 N. Campbell Ave., at 2:35 p.m. Wednesday.

An officer responded to Delta Chi in reference to a man urinating on a wall and refusing to leave. The officer found a man who appeared to be pretending to sleep. outside the east wall of the building

Fraternity members said they did not wish to make a report; they just wanted the man, who had no affiliation with the UA, to leave.

The man said he was having a heart attack and requested medications. While Tucson Fire Department was on the way, the officer checked the man’s pulse, and it appeared normal.

He did not complain of any chest pain and seemed to be highly intoxicated. TFD took him to UMC on account of his high blood sugar.

Officers had encountered the man on multiple occasions in the 48 hours prior, in reference to trespassing at 1801 E. First St. and 1695 E. Speedway Blvd. He had been warned for trespassing last Monday and arrested for trespassing Tuesday.

He received the exclusionary order due to these incidents.

A woman was arrested on two outstanding misdemeanor criminal warrants at East Speedway Boulevard and North Campbell Avenue at 7:55 a.m. Tuesday.

An officer observed a woman standing on the northwest corner of East Speedway Boulevard and North Campbell Avenue yelling, waving her arms and attempting to make contact with motorists. He made contact with the woman, and she identified herself.

A records check indicated the woman had two outstanding Tucson Police Department warrants out for failure to appear in court on a charge of disorderly conduct and a violation of a promise to appear on a charge of criminal trespassing.

The woman was booked into Pima County Jail.

A man was arrested for shoplifting at the UofA Bookstore, 1209 E. University Blvd., at 9:42 a.m. Tuesday.

At 9:21 a.m., an officer was dispatched to the bookstore in reference to shoplifting. He spoke with a store detective who said at 9:10 a.m. he observed a man pick up a package of mechanical pencils from a shelf.

The man then proceeded to another aisle, removed the pencils from the package and placed them in his right front pants pocket.

He placed the empty package on the shelf he was standing by and walked around the bookstore for a few minutes. He then walked out the main entrance without paying.

The detective approached the man outside and asked him to accompany him back into the store. The man was brought into the faculty lounge, where he removed the pencils from his pocket, and gave them to the detective.

The man said he needed pencils for a test he was going to take later in the day. He said he did not have cash, but did have a debit and credit card.

The value of the pencils was $14.29 before taxes.

The detective said the bookstore wished to pursue criminal charges against the man.

A student reported that someone punched out the driver’s side door lock of his truck in the Tyndall Avenue Parking Garage, 880 E. Fourth St., at 6 p.m. last Monday.

The student said he parked the truck in the garage on at 4:30 p.m. April 9 after finishing his classes for the day.

He went back to his vehicle on April 12, where he entered the vehicle using his keyless-entry switch and drove to his parents’ home in Phoenix.

Upon arrival, his mother asked him about the door lock, and the student became aware of the damage.

Police have no suspects or witnesses.
