CatsRidde continues this weekend
A free service designated to hinder drunk driving will continue tomorrow night, giving students another option to get home after a night of drinking.
CatsRidde will allow students who have already signed a waiver to use the service in order to get a ride home or to campus from 10 p.m. Saturday to 3 a.m. Sunday for the rest of the semester.
The waiver can be downloaded online at www.asua.arizona.edu and must be printed out and turned in by 5 p.m. today at the ASUA offices in order to use the service tomorrow and for the remainder of the semester, said Sen. Ryan Montana Erickson, chairman of finances for Cats Realizing the Importance of a Designated Driver Escort.
Anyone without a signed waiver won’t be granted a ride for liability reasons, and those asking for rides without signing up will be referred to a taxi, Erickson said.
One car will be available to transport students as far west as North Fourth Avenue, as far east as North Tucson Boulevard, as far north as East Grant Road and as far south as East Broadway Boulevard.
More vehicles may be added in the weeks ahead depending on the response the program receives, Erickson said.
