Why is it not as socially accepted for boys to cry in public?
I would say that males are expected to be resilient and be able to deal with things. It just seems like in a family situation a male is the one who needs to fight through the hard times, and having an emotional lapse or crying doesn’t seem very beneficial to solving a problem.
Do you think men are competitive because of the need to impress women or other men?
That goes back to survival of the fittest. It is important to show dominance when you are a man, because the more dominant male will benefit by getting the girl or showing other males that he is the best. It relates to all areas and any form of competition in life. Any place is valid for competition.
Do you think men may be more prone to violence when they have been drinking?
I don’t think that all males get violent when they are drunk, but some do. The reason why they do that is because it is another form of dominating, even if it is over something small or not important. An example of this was one time I was standing in line at O’Malley’s and I overheard these two guys behind me, and one of them told the other that his shirt was really dumb. I guess that when they got inside, they had met up with each other and went outside. They got into a fight and the police came and broke it up.
When two straight girls kiss, is that a turn-on or a turn-off?
I am down with straight girls kissing. I like kissing girls, so girls kissing each other is cool.
