A vehicle accident was reported at Park Avenue Parking Garage, 1140 N. Park Ave., at 12:15 p.m. April 20.

According to reports, a student witnessed a vehicle strike another vehicle as it attempted to park. The driver of the car got out to look at the damage.

The witness said, “”Are you going to leave a note?”” and the driver responded, “”Are you going to watch me?””

The witness left the area and returned a short time later to see the vehicles were parked right next to each other and no note was left on the vehicle that was struck.

The witness called the University of Arizona Police Department to notify them of the incident. Officers arrived on scene and noticed a scuff mark on the right front bumper of one vehicle and scuff marks on the left rear bumper of the other.

The officer contacted the driver of the first vehicle. The driver, a female student, said she accidentally hit the car while she was trying to park. She said she left a note with her name, telephone number and e-mail address.

The officer said no note was found on the other car. The student said high winds must have blown the note off the car. The owner of the car that was hit was contacted and informed of the incident.

Two women were arrested for various offences at the intersection of North Campbell Avenue and East Enke Drive at 9:48 a.m. April 22.

An officer pulled over a black 1994 Saturn SL2 because the vehicle had a warrant and the registration showed an expiration of 2006, as opposed to the 2007 sticker that was on the vehicle.

The passenger of the vehicle told the officer she had an outstanding warrant with TPD. The warrant was confirmed and the woman was arrested on charges of failure to appear for a previous court date.

The driver of the vehicle had an outstanding warrant issued by the Marana Police Department. This warrant was also confirmed and the woman was also arrested for failure to appear for a previous court date.

A search of the woman’s purse revealed she was carrying illegal drugs at the time of the traffic stop. Glass pipes with burnt residue, scissors, a metal pick, a wooden pick, a wire hook, a burnt wire pad and half a gram of crack cocaine were found inside the woman’s purse.

The woman would not tell officers where she got the drugs or paraphernalia, or who sold it to her. Both women were booked into Pima County Jail.

A man was arrested for criminal trespassing at the Meinel Optical Sciences Building, 1630 E. University Blvd., at 12:45 a.m. April 22.

According to reports, an officer observed a male walking southbound on Cherry Avenue and University Boulevard stumbling and swaying from side to side. The officer approached the man at the south entrance to the parking lot for the Optical Sciences Building.

The officer said the man’s breath smelled like alcohol. The officer asked the man what he was doing and he said he was on his way to his camp near the Broadway and Euclid intersection. The man was traveling from Grant Road toward his destination and decided to take a shortcut.

The officer asked the man if he knew where he was and he said he knew he was on campus. The man was warned on April 18 not to return to campus or else he would be arrested.

The man said he thought he just wasn’t allowed to go near the area by the residence halls. The officer from the April 18 incident was dispatched to the area and confirmed that it was the same man.

The man was arrested for criminal trespassing and booked into Pima County Jail. The man also had two outstanding warrants issued in Kingman, although they were non-extraditable.

An underage male was arrested for possession of marijuana and marijuana paraphernalia at the intersection of Tenth Street and Euclid Avenue at 8:35 a.m. April 23.

An officer performed a traffic stop on a gold Buick because a passenger was seen throwing a cigarette butt from the window. Eight people were in the car at the time of the stop, so the officer called for backup before approaching the vehicle.

The officer had all subjects put their hands on the dashboard or on the seat in front of them. The officer asked the driver to talk about the reason why he was pulled over.

The student said he smoked cigarettes but not marijuana, and consented to a search. All subjects exited the vehicle and officers found a multi-colored pipe.

The subject who was sitting in the front passenger seat said the pipe was his. He said he found the pipe at an unknown Circle K. Officers asked him what he put in the pipe and he produced a bag containing 2.7 grams of marijuana.

The boy was arrested on charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Six of the subjects were allowed to return to the vehicle while one was asked to walk away for safety reasons.

The arrested subject was cited and released on scene into the custody of his mother.
