Tucson moviegoers have a chance this Thursday to see some of Arizona’s finest for free.
“”More Than a Game,”” directed by Kristopher Belman and co-produced with Harvey Mason Jr., is the story of LeBron James and the Akron Fab Five and their rise to high school basketball fame and beyond.
Distributed by Lionsgate, the film was runner up at the Toronto Film Festival and has met critical acclaim since its release in October 2009.
“”It was an inspirational, motivational story,”” UA alumnus, songwriter, music and film producer Harvey Mason Jr. said.
The story follows future basketball legend Lebron James and his friends Dru Joyce, Sian Cotton and Willie McGee as they rise to fame from humble beginnings in their high school basketball team.
“”It’s about people accomplishing something spectacular,”” Mason Jr. said. “”Going over and above and accomplishing something great.””
Harvey Mason Jr. will be at the screening and available for a Q&A session after the film.
