Arizona women’s golf is set to participate in the Silverado Showdown this week, its last event before the Pac-12 Women’s Golf Championships on April 25.
The Silverado Showdown is being hosted by Colorado and Oregon and will take place at the Silverado Resort and Spa North Course in Napa, Calif.
The Silverado Showdown is two-day tournament, which means that the No. 9 Wildcats will have to play 36 holes of golf on Monday and complete the final 18 holes on Tuesday.
The field competing on this tournament will feature several Pac-12 Conference opponents, including No. 1 USC, No. 11 Washington, No. 33 California, No. 35 Oregon, Oregon State and Washington State. USC has won a total of eight tournaments this season.
The Wildcats are coming off of a fifth-place finish at the PING/ASU Invitational in Tempe, Ariz., which was the team’s third top-five finish of the season.
The lineup for the Wildcats will include junior Kendall Prince, junior Andrea Vilarasau, sophomore Lindsey Weaver, freshman Jessica Vasilic and freshman Wanasa Zhou.
Zhou was the Wildcats’ top performer in their last appearance, finishing in eighth place. That was her second top-10 finish of the season.
The first round of the Silverado Showdown will tee off at 7:30 a.m. on Monday. The second round will follow immediately after the conclusion of the first round, and the final round will start at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday.
