Day one of the Wolf Pack Classic was a success for the Arizona men’s golf team – the Wildcats are in first place after two rounds yesterday in Reno, Nev.
Arizona shot a 7-under 281 in the first round and a 4-under 284 in the second to bring its first-day total to 11-under 565.
Arizona can seal the victory in the final round today at the Wolf Run Golf Club, a par-72, 7,100-yard layout.
Freshman Tarquin MacManus and junior Tyler Neal lead the Wildcats tied for second place individually, standing at 4-under 140.
Freshman Andrew Kelly and senior Trey Denton are tied for 13th place at 1-under-par.
“”As a team, everyone’s hitting well,”” said senior Creighton Honeck, who stands at a 3-over 147. “”The course sets up well for us and we went out there and got it done. We played pretty solid.””
