George E. “”Brother Jed”” Smock, the mildly infamous campus evangelist, made his 32nd annual visit to the University of Arizona on March 25 at the Alumni Plaza.
Brother Jed, assisted by wife ‘Sister’ Cindy Smock, preached his brand of confrontational evangelism to a crowd of UA students who seemed unreceptive to his fundamentalist message. Smock’s confrontational evangelism particularly targeted homosexuals and practitioners of pre-marital sex.
Protesters dressed in angel wings with the ASUA Pride Alliance, an organization supporting LGBT issues, held a silent protest of hate speech next to the preachers.
