As students swarm the University of Arizona campus and classes roll into midterms, academics can begin to feel very overwhelming. Finding the right balance of social life, schoolwork and extracurriculars can take a toll on a student’s mental health.
Particularly for incoming students, adjusting to campus life can feel daunting when college course work is first introduced. One way to self-motivate is to find places around campus that feel comfortable and familiar. Whether you are working alone or with other students, the UA provides a multitude of easily accessible study spots around campus for students of all years to take advantage of.
One of the most popular study spots on campus is located on University Boulevard and is flooded with students every day from open to close.
Scented Leaf Tea House is a highlight of the street, offering plenty of tables and delicious drinks that provide students with an enjoyable study experience. This local spot opened in 2012, with the University location as its first location.
Located near Highland Avenue is the iconic Environmental and Natural Resources 2 building. Students argue that it’s one of the most beautiful locations on campus. It’s also convenient for freshman year students looking for a spot to study near many dormitories.
Similar to Scented Leaf, this location offers lots of outdoor seating with beautiful scenery. Notably, Slot Canyon Cafe is only a couple of feet away, offering a plethora of drinks and grab-and-go lunch bites. Meal plan swipes and dining dollars are also accepted.
This building is home to the Arizona Institute for Resilience, featuring rooftop garden plots and solar panels to promote green environmental practices, making it more than just a place to study.
One of the most commonly used spots on campus is the UA Main Library. Although Arizona can be awfully hot, some of the best study areas are right outside this building.
When the weather cools down, enjoying the outdoors while studying can elevate the entire experience. Many students also don’t realize how much more the library offers outside of study rooms and tables. On the lower level, CATalyst Studios provides students with different tools like 3D printers and sound equipment. It is important to utilize all the resources that are available, and the library is home to hundreds.
Keep seeking out new information about campus life and events to find a spot that feels uniquely you. Building study habits in a good environment can elevate your college experience entirely.
