saguaro fruit
Gordon Bates/ Arizona Daily Wildcat
Upon returning to the camp, Melissa Duhaime, a UA post doctoral scholar in marine micro biology, gets her hands messy during the process of extracting the pulp from the bulbs of the Sahuaro fruit. Melissa is adding to a large tub into which other visitors also put their yielded pulp that Stella will save for a time within a couple days when she will begin the process of producing wine and jelly.
