Rejoice, sushi fans: According to the folks at the Marshall Foundation, what once was an interesting-but-gimmicky dessert place and then was a something else place that didn’t bother to change the sign, is now going to become a restaurant called Fuku Sushi. I wasn’t able to find out if the restaurant is part of a chain, but there are several other places around the country named Fuku Sushi, so chances are they might have something to do with one another.
If so, it sounds like we’re going to be in for some pretty good sushi at kind of pricey prices ($30-$60 a head, according to the all-knowing Internet, though that includes tip and assumes you get a drink). It’ll be another nice place for all those rich kids from California to wear striped shirts and spend their parents’ money. I expect many a piece of sushi will be passing through many a frostily-glossed pair of lips soon.
Oh, who am I kidding? I’ll probably try it out too. If there’s one thing college kids love, it’s raw fish.
