The Battle of Liberty Place monument, previously on display in New Orleans until April 24 of this year. The city council removed the monument due to public outcry over its memorializing of a white supremacist group, Crescent City White League and their attempted usurpation of power from state government during the post- Civil War Reconstruction Era.
