Your charred grape tomato, feta and basil pesto omelet at Flora’s Market Run is 20% cheaper this month after the University of Arizona-area restaurant and grocery store decided to give students a helping hand: offering a discount when they show their CatCards.
To score this deal, which runs through the month of September, students must have their CatCards with them. Students also can get 10% off their ready-made poke bowls or fresh pasta in the market section if they show their receipt from the restaurant.
“It is just our way of saying welcome back to everyone,” said Nick Rios, general manager at Flora’s Market Run 2513 E. Sixth St.
The promotion is not only valid for Wildcats but also for students at Pima Community College.
“It is really important to us to emphasize that we want everyone to come in and check out the restaurant and market,” Rios said.
Flora’s Market Run is located at the corner of Sixth Street and Tucson Boulevard. Part of this promotion is leaning into its location and its proximity to campus.
“I mean, we are right next to the stadium, so we have to take advantage of that,” Rios said.
In addition to this promotion at Flora’s, there are many places students can present their CatCards and get discounts around campus. The Screamery at 2545 E. Speedway Blvd. offers a 10% discount on your order when you show your CatCard. Goodness Fresh at 2502 N. Campbell Ave. also offers a 10% discount when you show your CatCard.
Rios said the menus and offerings at Flora’s are continuously changing.
“I mean, we are soon going to be [offering] bento boxes in the market,” Rios added.
Flora’s Market Run opened in 2021 in the space that was home for decades to Rincon Market. The restaurant is open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday to Thursday, from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sundays. The market operates from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and until 6 p.m. Sundays.
