ASUA’s expected losses for the show
Total expenses for the show approach $500,000, according to a Feb. 25 contract theDaily Wildcat obtained through a public records request, as well as figures student government president Tommy Bruce provided last night.
Bruce said ticket sales are expected to reap only about $350,000, down from $376,986 estimated in the contract, as seats were cut to curtail safety risks.
A total of 8,083 tickets had been sold as of yesterday afternoon, said Darren Graessle, McKale’s director of ticket operations, adding that the show was sold out.
Bruce said ASUA, which organized the event, has assumed the show’s cost through money allotted from its special events budget and an outside loan.
