The Arizona’s men’s and women’s cross-country teams competed in the Pac-12 Cross Country Championships on Friday at Colfax Golf Course in Colfax, Washington. Colorado’s men’s and women’s teams swept the event, winning both 2015 Pac-12 Championships.
The men’s team took ninth place overall in the meet with a total of 271 points.
Collins Kibet led the men’s team and took 36th place overall in the 8K race. The junior leader ran a time of 24:18, his personal best for the season. Kibet has been Arizona’s top finisher in the last four meets.
Sam Willis was the next Wildcat to cross the line, finishing 61st with a time of 25:04.6. Patrick Leary took 73rd place after running a time of 25:40.07 and Jeff Gautreau placed 76th with a time of 25:59.3.
Seamus White finished right behind Gautreau in 77th place after posting a time of 26:05.7 and Matthew Beer placed 78th with a time of 26:08.8.
Jonas Legernes rounded out the Wildcat men’s finishers, finishing 79th with a time of 26:33.
The women’s team finished in eighth place overall with 237 total points.
Molly Callahan lead the way for the Wildcat women with a time of 20:44.2, earning her a 31st place finish in the 6K race.
Addi Zerrenner finished 38th overall with a time of 20:56.7. Coming in behind her in 43rd was Claire Green with a time of 21:02.2. Kayla Ferron finished in 68th place with a time of 21:43.6 and Kirsten Vergara ran a time of 22:10.2, earning a 86th place finish.
Kate Penney finished in 90th for the Wildcats with a time of 22:20.3 and McKenna Gaffney wrapped up the Wildcat finishers with a time of 22:45.4, earning herself a 95th place finish.
The Arizona squad will be traveling to Seattle to compete in the NCAA West Regional. The meet is set to take place on Nov. 13 at 1 p.m.
