The NBA’s Orlando draft camp excluded Chase Budinger from its guest list, but don’t think the Arizona sophomore wasn’t invited.
Budinger elected not to attend this week’s 2008 Pre-Draft Camp as a participant despite being invited, according to his father, Duncan Budinger.
The camp begins Wednesday at 6 a.m. EDT and its participants comprise of players projected to be drafted in the second round or later, Duncan said in a phone interview with the Daily Wildcat Tuesday.
Chase has until June 16 to decide whether he’ll enter the 2008 NBA Draft and hire an agent.
“”What he really wanted to do instead was concentrate the rest of this week on his pre-draft training so he’ll be prepped for his first workout June 4,”” Duncan said.
UA freshman Jerryd Bayless, a projected top-10 pick, was invited as a “”physical only”” player, one of the nation’s top 15 college basketball players. Among those are Pacific 10 Conference stars Brook Lopez of Stanford, Kevin Love of UCLA and O.J. Mayo of USC.
Check back Wednesday morning for the Arizona Daily Wildcat’s full interview with Duncan Budinger.
