UA head coach Lute Olson said his nine-man rotation is now “”pretty well-settled.”” Olson said guards Daniel Dillon and Nic Wise, along with forwards Bret Brielmaier and Jordan Hill will be the main group off the bench backing up the starting five.
Against a bigger frontcourt from Illinois, which is a more physical group than the Wildcats have faced thus far, Brielmaier may see more action guarding 6-foot-10, 245-pound Shaun Pruitt.
“”Bret’s not as tall as he is, but he’s built similarly where I think he’ll have a better chance of holding his ground,”” Olson said.
Wildcat plans
Arizona had a short workout today and players came in for individual shooting times because of class schedules. The Wildcats left for Phoenix today, but not before stopping at the Phoenix Children’s Hospital, part of the Hall of Fame Challenge off-court program. The Wildcats will then have a team dinner at their hotel, while Olson will take part in a banquet with the three other coaches, over a dozen Hall of Fame members, and the Challenge’s sponsors later tonight.
