In the final fall tournament before preparation for the spring season begins, the Wildcats faced off against tough competition in the San Diego State University Fall Classic.
After less then promising results in last week’s tournament, the Wildcats came out firing on all cylinders and dominated their opponents through all three days of the tournament.
Every Wildcat collected wins on the final day of the tournament.
Junior Samantha Czarniak was easily the team’s best player in the tournament, winning the singles title.
Czarniak continued her fantastic run of forum as she cruised through the tournament, and Arizona head coach Vicky Maes was more then impressed with her junior’s performance.
“It was great to see Sam win a title this weekend,” Maes said. “She came out and did a very good job of controlling her emotions and focusing on the process this week.”
Sophomore Devin Chyphya was another notable standout in the tournament. After an opening-round loss on Friday, the young Canadian picked herself back up and went undefeated for the rest of the tournament.
