I don’t mean to come down on Washington State head coach Paul Wulff, nor do I think it’s his fault, but this Cougar team is the worst squad in the history of the Pacific 10 Conference. After all, it has already given up the most points in conference play, and it still has three games to play. While the Wildcats said they weren’t worried about how much they win by, if they don’t beat them by 40 points or more that would be a complete embarrassment.

This game has embarrassment written all over it, and the Cougars are looking forward to Nov. 30 – the day that their football season over. Arizona should take the weekend off and hand their jerseys to the Pima Community College football team. Seriously. Why risk injuries against a JUCO team if the UA plays Oregon next week? After this game, the Pac-10 committee might want to consider making the conference the Pac-8 and exclude the Washington teams.

Normally here at Staff Picks, we try to show diversity in our selections. This might be the only game in history where you can’t actually pick Arizona to lose. Washington State has a better chance at beating an intramural team than it does of scoring two touchdowns on the Wildcats’ reserve players. But maybe the Cougars being soooooooo bad makes them due for a win. Probably not, but I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt (though I’m not sure why).
Washington State 21 (all field goals),
Arizona 20 (missed extra point)
