    Fashionistas to converge at stems

Stems a Shoe Boutique is giving Tucson fashionistas a chance to give back to the community while getting a sneak peak of the upcoming trends at their Take a Step on the Wild Side spring fashion show Friday.

“”From safari to ethnic to floral, we will be showing looks that are on trend for spring,”” said Natasha Holstine, fashion coordinator for Stems.

Stems will be partnering with other local boutiques such as Pour Moir, Zoe Boutique, AK Jensen, Ziggy’s Boutique, W Boutique, Piece by Piece Wear, Butz Jean Co., Limited Additions and Tapestry, Holstine said.

“”We will be using pieces from all of the different boutiques and mixing in our shoes from Stems,”” she said. “”The featured shoes will not be on the floor to be sold until the night of the show, so everyone attending gets to see and purchase before everyone else.””

On top of the 25 percent discount and gift with purchase offered that night, 10 percent of the proceeds will go to Youth On Their Own.

YOTO is a local nonprofit organization that provides financial assistance, basic human needs and guidance to homeless, unaccompanied youth so that they can graduate high school and better their future.

“”The gift will include items from all of the different vendors in the show,”” Holstine said. “”It will also include a trend book, the first pages of which are photographs of featured trends, and the rest is a notebook where customers can write notes on trends they like.””

Stems is making sure the show appeals to all.

“”We have 10 models walking from different age groups,”” Holstine said. “”They will be girls that reflect the different customers that will attend the show.””

Cocktails and hors d’oeuvres will be served at 5:30 p.m. and the show starts at 6:30 p.m. at 4340 N. Campbell Ave., #109.
