    Today marks the first day of Lent, which people around the world will observe by engaging in penance and giving up things like meat, soda and “”Grey’s Anatomy.”” The Newman Center has a list of events today, which can be found online at newman.web.arizona.edu.

    Breakfast with Shelton

    The Associated Students of the University of Arizona is accepting applications from students who want to have breakfast with President Robert Shelton March 7 at 7:30 a.m. Ten students will be selected. Applications, which are due March 2, are available online at www.asua.arizona.edu.

    Grief stages different than believed

    The stages of grief are disbelief, yearning, anger, depression and finally acceptance, according to a new grief study released today. Researchers also found the dominant feeling during grief is not depression but yearning.
