After seven years of featuring the biggest and best in underground heavy metal, famed KAMP Student Radio show “”The Big Bag of Angry”” goes out like a “”Dying Fetus”” in a few weeks when the most metal guy in law school graduates.
Tuesday from 10 p.m. to midnight, Alex “”Angry Al”” Shub, a third-year law student, and three freshmen co-hosts crammed in all things metal new and old, from Cannibal Corpse, Helmet and Megadeth to Angel Blake, Rebel Meets Rebel, Dog Fashion Disco, Sheavy and Evergrey.
This week’s show paid homage to Black Sabbath, perhaps the originators of the genre, with the anthem-y “”Sweat Leaf,”” also commemorating today’s holiday.
If you don’t understand metal music, Shub said you’re not listening hard enough, but tuning in is worth it to hear Shub et al. discuss the second-best thing about air bass, how Nirvana is the exodus of metal and the latest country song from Hulk Hogan.
Open your ears and your mind and listen to “”The Big Bag of Angry”” Tuesdays from 10 p.m. to midnight or to other KAMP shows around the clock online at kamp.arizona.edu or on channel 20 in the dorms.
