    Things to know today

    U.S. population reaches 300 million

    The United States’ population is expected to reach 300 million today, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. When the U.S. reached 200 million people in 1967, the White House held a celebration, but no events are planned for today’s population milestone.

    Predatory lenders on the prowl

    Learn the warning signs of a predatory lender and protect yourself from becoming a victim. An informational session will be held today for free at the Consumer Credit Counseling Services in the Center for Consumer Education Office, 4732 N. Oracle Road, from noon to 1 p.m.
