The Arizona women’s basketball team continued to shed its recent past with the transfer of another player.
Center Suzy Bofia became the latest to transfer to another school, UA head coach Niya Butts announced Friday. The program has lost Erin O’Bryan, Rheya Neabors, Rhaya Neabors and now Bofia from last season’s team.
Bofia became the 11th women’s basketball player to transfer since 2004.
“”Suzy’s decision to leave the Arizona program is in the best interest of her family,”” Butts said through the UA. “”I wish her well and I am sure she will be successful in her future.””
The 6-foot-6 Yaoundé, Cameroon, native gave birth to her daughter, Irene Noelle, last season and did not play as a junior.
In the 2006-07 season, Bofia averaged 4.4 points and 3.4 rebounds per game in her first season at Arizona after transferring from Illinois Central College.
At the time of publication, it was unknown whether Bofia’s twin sister Beatrice, a 6-foot-7 center, would follow her sister.
