    3 things to know today

    Women’s Resource Center open house

    The Women’s Resource Center will be having an open house today from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Come to find out more about the WRC’s programs, including self-defense classes, women’s professional skills series, car maintenance workshops, breast cancer awareness programs and more.

    The Fray tickets on sale today

    Students can purchase tickets for the Nov. 9 concert featuring the Fray at Centennial Hall at a discounted rate. Tickets go on sale today at 10 a.m. at the Centennial Hall Box Office and online at www.uapresents.org, and can also be purchased by phone at 621-3341 at noon. Tickets are priced between $15 and $30 for students, and $20 to $35 for the general public.

    Six cases of West Nile Virus reportedin Pima County

    Six human cases of West Nile Virus have been confirmed by the state health department this year.

    West Nile Virus is a mosquito-borne virus that is present from May through October, during peak mosquito season. The UA inspects outside areas, has weekly application of larvicide in known outdoor, standing water and as needed in indoor locations to control mosquitos, according to the committee. Call Facilities Management at 621-3000 to report areas of standing water or mosquito concerns.
