    Quick Tips

    Use a compact florescent bulbs – they last 10 times longer.

    Unplug appliances that include a clock or operate by a remote, as well as chargers, which use energy even when not in use. Use a power strip to prevent energy from being wasted.

    Insulate your water heater with a Thermwell blanket; you will save 10% on your bill.

    Have you furnace tuned every two years

    Turn down your heater. For every degree lower, subtract 5% from your bill.

    Set your washer to cold.

    Put weatherstrips around the frames of your doors leading to the outside.

    Set your water heater at 120 degrees Fahrenheit.

    Install low-flow shower heads.

    Fix your leaky faucet. Leaky faucets waste as much as 2,700 gallons of water a year.

    Run only full loads when washing your clothes and dishes.
