Wide receiver Gino Crump and linebacker Paul Vassallo, both former Wildcats, were let go by the Arizona Cardinals on Friday as the team aims to cut its roster to Monday’s required 75-player maximum.

Crump, who had 65 receptions for 610 yards and two touchdowns at the UA last year, initially joined to Bills for their rookie minicamp in April but wasn’t picked up after the camp ended. He signed with the Cardinals on May 30.

After being picked up by the Bills in April, Crump told the Daily Wildcat he was “ready to go to Antarctica” if that’s what it took to be picked up by a NFL team.

“I’m willing to do whatever it takes,” Crump said at the time. “I think I proved that during my time at Arizona and I just want to continue on that train, with hard work and dedicating myself to my craft, and just being a real professional.”

Vassallo, who was second on the Wildcats with 70 tackles in 2011, was signed by the Cardinals on April 28.
