Just two days before the Duel in the Desert, UA freshmen Garland Judkins and D.J. Shumpert received suspensions for failing to meet team obligations, UA interim head coach Russ Pennell announced today in a news release.
Neither player will dress in uniform for Sunday’s trip to Tempe against No. 14 ASU.
For Judkins, this is the third time serving a suspension this season. Since his first suspension on Dec. 5 against Texas A&M – also classified as breaking team rules – the Humble, Texas, native has only scored 12 points over 20 games.
Before his initial suspension, Judkins had scored 31 points in the first six games of the season.
“”Garland and D.J. have been suspended for failing to meet team obligations,”” Pennell said.
