At the beginning of each school year, everyone has a chance to start anew, whether by moving, meeting people or signing up for different classes, clubs or activities, among a myriad of other possibilities.

A new beginning carries potential. At the Arizona Daily Wildcat, we’ve used this chance to introduce a reinvented news product, beginning with the quite obvious change in size and design. We’ve held many meetings, discussions and planning sessions to unveil the Wildcat in broadsheet.

We are creating a professional, aesthetically pleasing paper, a paper that focuses on and prides itself in community journalism. We plan to lead in campus-related news, especially since we are all UA students.

Other changes we are introducing include: The Monday Revue and Friday Revue, which are arts and entertainment sections; a weekly lifestyle WildLife section on Wednesdays; a daily news podcast, available online; and audio and video journalism on our Web site.

We look forward to serving you this semester.
