Arizona at Oregon State
All it takes is a win to get over the hump. There are no more question marks. The Arizona
offense has proven it is as reliable as State Farm, while the defense suddenly remembered it was supposed to be the better of the team’s two units. Expect Arizona to surprise you, not only this week but in the weeks to come. The Wildcats will be smooth criminals, like Michael Jackson before all the incidents with the children.

Call this the season of magical kidney stones. Mike Stoops’ seat couldn’t have been hotter before passing a kidney stone on the eve of last weekend’s game. His quick recovery launched the “”Air Zona”” offensive assault in a do-or-die victory over Washington State to end the suffering and save his job (for the time being). Both Arizona and Oregon State remain in the same position as last weekend: Win or get ready for basketball season. Willie Tuitama breaks Taryne Mowatt’s school record for number of throws in a single game en route to the team’s first road win of 2007.

This is as close to a must-win as possible. Well, every game is a must-win, but this game can signifi cantly affect the outcome of Arizona’s season. Coming off a much needed victory over Washington State, Arizona found two things : confi dence and a running game. The performance of true freshman running back Nicolas Grigsby was the real story. He put up 186 yards on the ground on an unsuspecting Wazzou defense, giving the Wildcats offensive balance and confidence that they can win.
