Applications for next year’s Chimes Junior Honorary are now available in the ASUA office, located on the third floor of the Student Union Memorial Center. Chimes members participate in social and fundraising activities, along with philanthropies. Applications are due by 5 p.m. Thursday.
Play in dirt to fight depression
Soil bacteria might help fight depression by activating a group of neurons that produce the brain chemical serotonin, according to a study published in the journal Neuroscience. Mice treated with the bacteria altered their behavior in a way similar to that produced by antidepressant drugs.
Hear a success story
Ben Casnocha, a 19-year-old entrepreneur and author, will be at Berger Auditorium in McClelland Hall at 6 p.m. today to share his success story with aspiring entrepreneurs. He founded a software provider for local governments at age 14 and currently works with Mobius Venture Capital, based in Boulder, Colo.
