    Study Abroad opportunities showcased on Mall

    Students can learn all about international opportunities at the Study Abroad Fair on the UA Mall today.

    The fair, sponsored by the Office of Study Abroad and Student Exchange, will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

    Council Member Trasoff invited to speak on campus

    Applications are now available for 11 students interested in talking politics and having lunch with Tucson City Council member Nina Trasoff on March 3 from 11 a.m. to noon in the Associated Students of the University of Arizona conference room.

    Trasoff is expected to talk about her role as a city council member and field questions from the audience.

    UA Foundation looking for students to fill caller positions

    The UA Foundation Annual Fund’s Telephone Outreach Program is currently accepting applications and will have group interviews today and tomorrow.

    Today’s group interview for caller positions begins at 5:30 p.m. Students can dress casually and don’t need to bring anything. Interviews should last about 20 minutes.

    The interview on Friday begins at 5 p.m.

    Applicants should meet in the lobby area of the UA Foundation, 1125 N. Vine Ave.

    A caller position consists of contacting UA alumni, friends, former students and parents to update name and address records and ask for donations to the UA.

    All callers are required to work a minimum of 12 hours per week. After training, callers are paid $6 per hour. The position also offers scheduled and performance-based raises that are capped at $9 per hour.

    Professors, students to be honored at bookstore

    The 2005 Regents’ Professors, University Distinguished Professors, University Distinguished Outreach Professors and 11 outstanding student scholars will be honored at a reception today.

    The program will include remarks by Provost George Davis and a presentation of portrait of past honorees; the portraits will hang in the UofA Bookstore Pillars of Excellence gallery for one year.
