The Arizona Board of Regents approved the construction of two new campus research buildings during a committee meeting yesterday.
The two buildings are expected to house a new $60 million engineering research center, next to the existing Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering building and an $85 million bioscience facility next to the BIO5 Institute.
The buildings, which will be built north of Speedway Boulevard, were submitted as part of the UA’s Capital Improvement Plan. Getting board approval for the projects allows the UA to begin finalizing necessary funding measures.
More details will follow as they become available.
